General Information on Supervisors

Kandiyohi Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Supervisors are elected officials that govern the local SWCD.  Candidates are elected in the general election and serve a 4-year term.  The office of Supervisor is a nonpartisan office. Kandiyohi SWCD Supervisors must reside in one of the townships they represent, however they are elected at-large.

Election Information

A candidate interested in serving on the Kandiyohi SWCD Board of Supervisors must file a “Minnesota Affidavit of Candidacy” with the Kandiyohi County Auditor, located in Willmar.  The filing fee is $20 and the filing period will be announced at a later date.

Terry Schaefer, Paynesville, has filed for District II and Brandon Smith, Raymond, has filed for District V on the Kandiyohi Soil and Water      Conservation District Board.  More information about the candidates may be found on the Secretary of State's web site at www.sos.state.mn.us

The Kandiyohi SWCD Board of Supervisors approved the 2010 Annual Plan at their Regular Meeting on December 16, 2008.  As required, two copies were submitted to the Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR).

2009 Financial Report

 

The Kandiyohi SWCD Board of Supervisors approved the 2008 Financial Statements and Management Discussion and Analysis at their Regular Meeting on February 17, 2009.

James Maiser, CPA conducted an audit of the Financial Reports for the year ending December 31, 2008.  As required, the Minnesota State Auditor’s Office reviewed the 2008 Audit Report.
