KANDIYOHI COUNTY
SNOWMOBILE SAFETY PATROL

2004 SNOWMOBILE SAFETY PATROL

In 2004, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office received a $4,311.12 snowmobile grant to be used for snowmobile enforcement and safety in Kandiyohi County and also to purchase snowmobile equipment.

The year 2004 had a limited amount of snow as did the previous year.  Because of this there was limited contact on the trails with snowmobiles.

In 2004, there were 30 snowmobile violation warnings written and 17 snowmobile violation citations.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office also responded to three snowmobile accident complaints and two other snowmobile complaints.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office has nine deputies that work Snow Patrol either on their regular shift or on over time shifts paid by the snowmobile grant.

Respectfully Submitted,

Randy Kveene

Chief Deputy
