KANDIYOHI COUNTY WATER PATROL

DIVE TEAM 2007

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office Dive Team conducted an ice dive on Kandiyohi County’s South Long Lake in early March, 2007 to recover items from a fish house that had fallen through the ice in December.  Ryan Doty, Aaron Peterson and Jay Vagle dove, and Sign Holm provided surface support.  The members were on the lake for approximately 3 hours each.

On 3-24-07, Jay Vagle from the Dive Team participated in the Cold Water Rescue Refresher Course with area first responders, members of fire department, and law enforcement officers.  The training consisted of a half hour classroom and practical exercise at the Mill Pond in New London.  The exercises lasted approximately three hours and thirty minutes and consisted of surface ice/water rescue training, scuba diving was conducted.

On 10-27-07 two individuals were thrown from a fishing boat on Eagle Lake.  Dive Team members assisted in the recovery of the drowning victim.  Five members were present from around noon to 6:30 pm.

A training dive was scheduled at Salisbury Beach on Green Lake on 11-27-07.  Only two members were present.  Due to the numbers and the weather no diving took place.

Respectfully Submitted,

Jay Vagle
