CEE-VI DRUG TASK FORCE STATISTICS

The CEE-VI (Cooperative Enforcement Effort) Drug Task Force presents the following statistical information for the year 2004 for your information and review.

The CEE-VI Drug Task Force was formed in 1990 as a multi-jurisdictional drug investigational unit. Through the cooperation of all agencies involved in the task force area and cooperatively sharing information and resources, drug investigations were enhanced.

The CEE-VI Drug Task Force now consists of the six counties of Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Renville, Swift and Yellow Medicine; along with local police departments within the six county area.

The CEE-VI Drug Task Force is funded by federal funds through the Edwin Byrne grants and local funds through the six participating counties.

The CEE-VI Drug Task Force is governed by the Board of Directors consisting of six county sheriffs, seven police chiefs, along with an executive board of directors consisting of a county commissioner or representative of each of the six counties.

In the year 2004, the CEE-VI Drug Task Force conducted long-term investigations of individuals for the manufacture, sale, and distribution of illegal drugs. These investigations resulted in a total of approximately 166 individuals arrested for major drug violations. The major drugs found by the narcotics agents in the Task Force are mainly marijuana, methamphetamine and cocaine. These are the major drugs being used, sold, and manufactured within the Task Force area.
