Family Home Visit

Because babies don't come with instructions

What is the Family Home Visiting Program?

Kandiyohi County Public Health's Family Home Visiting program is available to provide education and support to your family.  Being a parent is a wonderful job.  You may have questions before and after your baby is born.

Family Home Visiting Provides:

  • Home visits by a Public Health Nurse during your pregnancy or after your baby is born.  The Public Health nurse can weigh your baby and answer questions about your newborn.
  • Information about your health and how to care for your baby.
  • Individualized parenting education
  • Information on physical, mental, and emotional growth and development.
  • Referrals to community resources

Why have a home visit?

The birth of your child is a very special and joyful event.  It can also be a time filled with questions and concerns about your new baby, your family and yourself.

Whether this is your first baby..... or your fifth, it's nice to have someone to talk with.
