Health and Human Services Director

Under the administrative supervision of the County Administrator and the County Board this position provides overall leadership and direction of the County's health and human services (Human Services and Public Health) including overall strategic planning, development, implementation and administration of the Department's s activities for individuals County wide. 

Duties include establishing goals, objectives and strategies for the Department to ensure compliance with the County's mission, vision and core values and local, state, and federal laws and regulations applicable to Department operations.
Provide direction, supervision and communication to administrative and supervisory staff so that the department programs are consistently, effectively and efficiently implemented.  Establish goals and objectives with unit supervisors; interpret federal, state and county policies and procedures to staff.  Analyze and evaluate agency policies and procedures.
Participates with the community in developing and administering public health, social services and income maintenance programs; responsible for providing reports and statistics required by federal, state and county laws, rules, policies and procedures; and performs related work as required. 

Develops and administers departmental budget, approves expenditures; reviews budget reports; manages financial operations. 

Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience: 

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public or Business administration, Public or
Community Health, or a closely related  field; and at least 6  years of progressively responsible managerial experience in social work, psychology, public health, or health care; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Salary Range: $ 92,014.00 – 133,406.00 DOQ 

Reports to: CountyAdministrator
