Family Service Department Mission:

To provide human services which promote quality of life for the people of Kandiyohi County

in a caring, professional and fiscally responsible manner.

 

 

Programs/Services DESCRIPTION
Child Support Child support services for all eligible persons applying.
Mental Health and
Chemical Health
Services for individuals experiencing issues with mental health or chemical dependency.
Developmental Disabilities Assessment for people who have developmental disabilities or a related condition.
Elderly or Under 65 Disabled Assessment to determine if nursing home placement is necessary or if services can assist an individual to remain in the community.
Financial Support Determine eligibility for Financial Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Food SupportHealth Care Programs and Emergency Programs for individuals and families.
Licensing Provide child care, adult and child foster care licensing services to individuals and families wanting to provide child care or foster care.
Investigations Assessment or Investigation of reported abuse or neglect of children or adults.

Child Protection
Child Welfare

Services for abused or neglected children and to help strengthen families. Provide child welfare services to families experiencing truancy, other family issues or minor parents. Adoption services for state ward children.
