A Permit is required in Kandiyohi County to design, install, construct, alter, extend, and/or repair a Subsurface Sewage Treatment System(SSTS). Kandiyohi County requires septic compliance inspections when, in Shoreland Management Zones, any land use/building permit or variance is requested for any improvement on, or use of the property, in any other zone, when a bedroom addition is requested, or when property is sold or transfered.
These standards are set forth by Minnesota Rules, Chapter 7080, and the Kandiyohi County Sewage Treatment Ordinance No. 27
Properties that are located on a public sewer district, such as Glacial Lakes Sanitary Sewer or the Eagle Lake Sewer should contact the following with questions and/or proposed projects on their lot.
